7.5% off new Earth2 purchases with code: E2COUPON
Note. E2V1 is a PC-based application which requires a decent graphics card to run (Earth2 have released required specifications on the Discord channel).
I thought this may preclude me as MAC user (or at least consign me to using this on my sons gaming PC)...not so!
As a Mac user, the above footage is running from my 2020 MacBoor Air (similar results achieved with my M1 Mac), using a virtual PC.
E2V1 LIVE for tester/BETA access
Wow. Simply Wow.
A few hours in as an early tester on E2V1 and I can confirm it's mind-blowing and beautiful in equal measure.
It's also pretty easy to navigate once you have a feel for the controls. My overwhelming feeling is that this will trigger a further surge of land buying. It's hard not to want to purchase more land when you can visualise it like this (i.e completely unspoilt), with no real-world structures/ buildings). I can already see several plots I need (yes need, not want!) to buy.
As a beta, limited release version (I think a few hundred testers at this stage), it's very stable. I suspect this may change when general access is released...particularly as I see more people coming to Earth2 on the back of this release.
Again, Wow. I feel privileged to be in this early group. Let me continue to savour the beauty of a un-developed Earth :)
What is E2V1?
E2V1 is the promise Earth2 was build on several years ago - simple as that.
The first version of a playable, 3D, metaverse, that replicates the entire globe. Never been seen before, and arguably, unthinkable when Earth2.io was launched.
This is the promise that players invested in (in a literal and emotional sense). Will 2025 be the year?
E2V1 almost here....?
It's been a while! The last six months have seen much of the same on Earth2.io. Collecting Ether, raiding other players Ether, and converting to Essence. There's been some side quests along the way - staking Essence, flipping Essence (occasionally) and trying the maximise the impact of Droids. Just recently, for those with lots of Essence staked, a 'reward wheel' that discounts land purchases.
But...
Now we may be close to some REALLY big. In the past few days, following some tentative timelines being shared, Shane (CEO of Earth2) has confirmed that E2V1 is almost ready to launch. This IS the first real proof of concept for a global-scale metaverse. Buckle up and hold-one...the next few weeks could be interesting.
It's not clear if E2V1 will release to everyone at the same time (Note. get ready for server crashes!), or to pre-confirmed testers... Either way - this could be HUGE. I'll keep you posted.

Earth2 Whitepaper
Essence as a Crypo launches! A few weeks ago it become possible to withdraw Essence from Earth2 and trade using Uniswap. With players providing liquidity the launch has been surprisingly stable to date with Essense (ESS) currently moving around $0.11. With land upgrades promised soon, I've left most of my Essence in-game - but it's great to see this milestone reached as another way of genering real world $ from the game.
Earth2 Whitepaper
Earth2 Whitepaper drops! After much anticipation, Earth2 finally release their Whitepaper. Lots of noise on social medial this morning regarding its contents (particularly lack of a liquidity pool for the upcoming Essence launch), but here are my main takeaways:
$22m already paid out to players from the platform - that's immense!
Virtual land remains at the centre of future plans and will be the asset from which everything else is derived.
Maximum cap of 250m Tier 1 and Tier 2 land tiles. Tier 3 land tiles will not have a maximum cap.
In the future, there will be a time period in which to transform Ether into Essence (currently you can store as much Ether as much as you like for as long as you like).
Maximum cap of 150m for Tier 1 jewels (about half of those have already been discovered).
Maximum cap of 5m for 1st generation cydroids.
Maximum cap of 0.5m for each of the currently available Civilians (Reckoner, Technician, Raid Commander).
Essence as a Crypto will be a token on the Ethereum blockchain, accessible through MetaMask initially.
Maximum cap of 1b for Essence, with 65% mined from player owned land.
When Essence is released as a Crypto, just under 1/3 of the total overall supply will be available.
Essence will be deflationary and disflationary:
Various deflationary 'burning' mechanics, e.g. 50% essence burnt on land upgrades etc.
Halving events will be used as a further disflationary mechanic.
Skins and more skins
Big push on skins from Earth2 recently. I assume this is solid income stream to help sustain development of the platform. I've largely resisted the urge since the inaugural skin (Kyung), but I have to confess to a quick purchase yesterday when the Khepera skin launched. I wanted the gold version but that sold out in a few minutes. Luckily I snagged my 2nd choice, the Platinum version, for $30. I wonder how long it will be before my avator rocks this outfits in the Earth2 Verson 1? Good to see Earth2 commanding these type of prices for the skins...shows the ingoing interest in the platform and a good diverse income stream for Shane and the team.
More broadly, we await launch of Essence as a crypto. The environment is certainly becoming more supportive, with the recent Bitcoin surge that is likely to continue with the next halving event. The development team are teasing us with this - with land upgrade options launched on the live platform this week for 'modelling'. This demonstrates some of the utility that Essence will yield. A few exciting months ahead?
I've also participated in some of the Tier 3 Teritory releases in Paris, Bern and California. Not entirely sure what I will do with Tier 3 land, but it is addictive to acquire and another good way of stimulating land sales by Earth2. 488 properties (9,322 tiles) and counting!
Still hustling
It's been a while since my last blog post (mainly due to change in job). However, rest assured that I'm still here and still hustling!
Earth2 has become much more interesting in last 12 months - with raiding, in particular, keeping me occupied. I have several hundred Cydroids that leave my land daily to raid Ether from other players (most automated with Civilians), and I continue to tweak performance with Jewel slotting and other techniques. To date, I haven't been faffed to ensure all Cydroids on each property are of the same kind (to enable 'aborting' of raids)... but maybe that will come at some point!
I'm quite enjoying the Ether boost that is currently available as well. Provides a good reason to log in each day, yielding a decent haul of Ether.
Stage2 Raiding insights
After a few false starts and what seemed like a very long wait, raiding was finally fully operational on Stage2 towards the end of February 2023. I have a few weeks playing with it now and have had some success in grabbing unstable Ether through targeted raids. Overall, it's fun, if not a little tedious.
When this goes live on the main server it will require quite a lot of time and attention for large land owners. Essentially you build > charge > raid > dispense > charge... and repeat. You can only raid properties within a certain distance of the Droid location. On the test server, this meant I have had to relocate some of the Droids in order to find viable raid locations. That probably won't occur on the live server as there are many more players, but it will make me think more carefully about where to build Droids, particularly as it costs Essence to do so. Whilst most of my raids have been unsuccessful, I do think the cost/benefit of building Droids is there, based on the Ether recovered from successful raids over time. Once built, there are no residual costs that I can see currently.
As for Essence launching as a Crypto, still no firm update from Shane or the Devs. The Crypto market remains highly volatile at the moment, which suggests we may still be a few months from this milestone. If it does launch as a Crypto, and if raiding goes live on the main server, I can see rapid update of this feature and more players being drawn into Earth2. For now, I'm off to raid more test properties on Stage2...
Raiding Live on Stage2
The next Earth2 gameplay element, Raiding, is now on the Stage2 (testing server). Anyone can sign-up for an account here and it's a chance to test new features for free before they come live. I've logged in this morning and need to wait for some Ether to generate in Stage2 before I can start building Cydroids for Raising...going to be a long 24 hours whilst I wait! Fancy playing around on Stage 2? You can find it here:

Wow...just Wow!
The latest Earth2 video dropped overnight, showing Earth2 Version 1 - a preview of the first 3D version of the Earth2 metaverse. Terrain (on a massive scale), buildings, leisure and work, gaming. The list could go on. This really does show the promise of the Earth2 platform and gives further insight into the thoughts of the Dev Team, particularly CEO Shane. I am blown away by the vision here. And the size. It's easy to forget that Earth2 is being based on a replica of the ENTIRE planet. That's mind blowing. This could be THE metaverse if the team manage to pull off even half of what the video promises. Well done team. Exciting times ahead.
Lots of updates in the past few weeks, some of which I haven't had time to fully explore yet (e.g. HoloBlueprints V1.1). The Raiding Deep Dive video released by Shane (see in the VLOGs section of this site) was the most significant update on future gameplay in some time and is well worth a watch. It sets the scene for how the Droid game (previously purchased by the Earth2 platform) may be integrated into gameplay in the future, and also - for the first time - confirmed that Ether will be able to be 'raided' from the land of players who are not active on the platform. This will initially be through the internet version of Earth2, before being integrated into the much heralded Earth2 game when this launches. It's clear Shane is taking a much closer grip on game design and hopefully this will play dividends in the future. It's good to see this steady release of updates and communications for the platform, which had lagged other metaverses in terms of progress in 2022. The E$10,000 (USD) reward for the player purchasing the 100 millionth tile on the platform was also a nice reminder of Shane's player orientation. 2023 could be a very special year for Earth2!
Like many players I've spent the weekend researching, finalising and submitting Resource Claims on my properties using the Resource Validation System (as well as staking the many claims that are coming through this weekend). This follows the announcement that the validation system will close on 17 October. It's unclear when the system will re-open, and some big hints made that even when it does, it's likely to be more restrictive than what players have become accustomed with over the past 3 months.
I've targeted my larger properties that don't currently yield resources, and have made both Iron Ore and Gold Claims. These largely rely on Minedat data and other material sourced from search engines, but hopefully have some promise. Amongst the claims made:
Iron Ore for the Soloman Islands, following a template claim put together by the creators of Minde Minde Islands (a megacity on Earth2)
Iron Ore for the Marshall Islands and Porto Santo, with reference to minerals known the occur there
Finally, a Gold claim for Guatemala, referencing the known Gold deposits in that geography
Fingers crossed for the above. Each claim came at the cost of $4.95 so I hope that proves a good investment. My personal view is we will look back on this period as the 'honeymoon period' for resources claims, with much tighter process in the future to get resources registered on Earth2 properties.
What better way to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II than to create a beautiful HoloBuilding Palace in tribute to her own home in London, UK. This took me almost a day and is huge - will need a plot of 18x18 tiles to really make it shine a few hundred $E to build. Fits really - it is a palace after all! Listed on the Bazaar for just $19.95.
Listed on the Earth2 Bazaar as: DMK London Palace Tribute Large
A few gamers have brought my Luxury Mansions and I really hope someone takes the plunge with the Palace...would love to see this on the Earth2 map! Needless to say, I am still enjoying the ability to sell HoloBuildings.
In addition to the Latest News on the main Home Page, today marks the start of the Earth2Expert blog. In this page I will share personal insights of my own Earth2 experience as the game continues to develop. These views are my own.
So let's get started! This weekend I have enjoyed playing with HoloBuilding Blueprints following the Go Live of the HoloBlueprint section of the Bazaar. This allows you to sell both HoloBuildings and HoloBuilding Blueprints to other users. I had anticipated the launch by creating some Holobuildings for sale, to add to those I have already designed and placed on my own land.
Despite much speculation on discord regarding the likely value of HoloBuildings, the Bazaar has already been flooded with Holobuildings and Blueprints available at the floor price of E$0.02. This is E$0.01 to the seller of the HoloBuilding and E$0.01 to Earth2...a very slow to get rich!
I've opted for E$4.95 for my better HoloBuildings, mostly my Mansions and Villas, which took hours to design. Why E$4.95? This is the recognised cost for other Earth2 transactions (for example EPL upgrades), so I figured would be a good starting point. I'm not currently listing as Blueprints as I want to retain the original designs, so all my listings are for HoloBuildings that other players can place on their land, but not edit or re-sale the design (NB. in the future, it looks as though individual HoloBuildings will also be trade-able, but I am fine with this). I've also tagged/ titled all of my HoloBuildings with 'DMK' so my designs can be easily found and associated with each other.
Although - confession time 🙂 I couldn't resist quickly creating and listing some 'floor price' Holobuildings as well, just to test how these will go. So I've gone for some arty designs just to test this. It's a bit of fun after all!
So how has it gone so far? Weekend 1 and I do have some sales which is great, although - at least for my designs - it is quite a bit slower than flipping Jewels on the Bazaar. However, it is great to see the further potential of 'play to earn' concept in Earth2 and the appetite of players to get involved. It's also another thing to draw players to the platform, which will support continued growth (something other MetaVerse platforms would do well to take note of). I've picked up a few more EPLs with my sale proceeds, so further growth for the platform.
Overall, I'm loving this update and the ability to sell HoloBlueprints in the Bazaar. I think I may spend many more hours creating HoloBuildings in the coming weeks! I've set out my initial sales below...
DMK Luxury Mansion 1
SOLD! E$4.95
Arguably my best design so great to see this sell so soon. A British style mansion.
SOLD! DMK Stone Henge 1
SOLD! E$0.10
A quick design based on the British Landmark. I've now created a bigger version.
SOLD! DMK A Squared
SOLD! E$0.02
A 'floor price' design - intended as game storage or NFT art. Will look great on land.
SOLD! DMK B Squared
SOLD! E$0.02
An iteration of the first DMK Squared Holo. Time will tell if more will follow!
